Time Administrator
About the position
The Time Administrator position is a member of the Time Administration team and works to ensure the timely processing of Time for large populations of salaried exempt/non-exempt and hourly employees primarily utilizing Workday and Workforce Software. The successful candidate must be someone who is self-motivated and works independently with little work direction, works to produce high quality error-free work, is flexible and quickly adapts to changing priorities, uses independent judgment and decision-making skills, multi tasks, and demonstrates interpersonal skills in a professional demeanor. This position also requires the ability to discreetly and routinely handle confidential information. Business knowledge and/or experience working with or within Chevron systems are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Functions as a knowledgeable resource on timekeeping policy and procedures.
- Primary point of contact for employees and managers questions with regards to timekeeping policies and guidelines.
- Provides detailed counsel on routine as well as complex time coding and pay situations.
- Consults on timekeeping policy as it relates to company policy.
- Investigates and solves various problems involving incorrect checks.
- Collects, balances and audits accuracy of payroll input data.
- Runs time reports.
- Performs pre/post pay close audits and make necessary corrections to timesheets to align with company policy.
- Advises supervisors and timekeepers where improper coding has been used.
- Trains and educates supervisors on proper timekeeping coding, procedures, and practices to ensure highest payroll quality.
- Coordinates with various departments (Corp. Payroll, Disability Management Group, etc.) to resolve employee time/pay issues and tracking status of disability cases as required.
- Manages short term employee disability time coding.
- Administrator and primary contact for Comp-time database.
- Provide administrative and other support to HR team as required.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with Workday and Workforce Software for time & pay.
- Familiarity with state and federal wage and hour law and regulations.
- Intermediate/advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and contribute as a team player.
- Communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with all levels of employees and managers.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to multitask and produce high quality output with minimal errors in appropriate timeframes.
- Demonstrated trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-haves
- At least 2 years of experience in similar positions.
- One year experience in a refinery or related industrial environment.
