Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the fleet's lifecycle.
- Carry out annual inspections as required on all fleet vehicles and equipment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and necessary repairs on all fleet vehicles, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.
- Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report items promptly and efficiently.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in a range of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical, and brake systems.
- Document all work performed on work orders accurately.
- Mentor and train junior technicians to help them advance their skills and responsibilities.
- May take on supervisory responsibilities in the absence of fleet management.
- Proficiently conduct electrical meter testing and complete electrical repairs as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED; valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
- Experience: Technical training in medium/heavy duty trucks; 4 years of experience or 5 years in fleet maintenance and repair.
- Certifications: Knowledge of Annual Inspector Certification, Brake Inspector Certification; ASE certifications in Automotive or medium/heavy duty trucks; EPA section 608 and 609 HVAC & Refrigeration Certification.
