Senior Backend Engineer

Leading the design and evolution of backend services, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will work remotely to generate and support personalized podcast episodes at scale while transforming MVPs into reliable production systems and mentoring team engineers. Key responsibilities Lead the design and evolution of backend services for personalized podcast episodes Transform MVPs and prototypes into reliable production systems with clear APIs and strong observability Mentor engineers and enhance the quality of technical design discussions and operational practices Required qualifications 5+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems using Java, Kotlin, Scala, Go, or similar languages Experience with distributed systems concepts including asynchronous processing and service-to-service APIs Hands-on experience with LLM-powered applications and agentic workflows Strong ability to navigate ambiguity while maintaining engineering discipline Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering quality and operational maturity
