[Remote] Akamai Lead Analyst
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Net2Source (N2S) is seeking an Akamai Lead Analyst to manage global traffic analysis and ensure the functionality of Akamai services. The role involves configuring and validating Akamai rules, investigating performance bottlenecks, and managing security measures against bots and attacks.
Responsibilities
- Traffic Analysis: Act as the primary investigator for global traffic patterns. You will distinguish between organic "human" shoppers, legitimate search crawlers, and malicious actors
- Configuration & Validation: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of Akamai ION (delivery) and WAF (security) rules. This includes configuring changes, deploying to Akamai Staging, and performing rigorous regression testing to ensure "Buy" buttons and "Store Locators" remain functional
- Edge Logic: Implement edge-side redirects and caching strategies to reduce the load on the origin servers during heavy retail promotions
- The Performance Data Analyst (RUM Data Analytics) - mPulse Insights: Go beyond "up or down" monitoring. You will use mPulse to analyze Real User Monitoring data, identifying how site speed
- Bottleneck Detection: Investigate "long-tail" latency issues. You’ll be responsible for identifying if a slowdown is caused by third-party marketing tags, slow API calls, or unoptimized image assets
- Mpulse data Reporting: Translate technical performance metrics into business-friendly reports for stakeholders
- WAF Management: Continuously tune Web Application Firewall rules to block SQL injections and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) without creating "false positives" for real customers
- Bot Mitigation: In the retail context, you will lead the fight against advanced bots that try to make site unstable
- Attack Investigation: During an attack, you are the "First Responder,” along with Akamai managed Security support team and analyzing Akamai Security Monitor logs towering with Akamai SOC team to implement real-time blocks or rate-limiting , custom rules ..etc
- Observability : Analyzing the requests logs using observability tools like SPLUNK..etc
- Akamai alerts (Edge alerts or High volumetric / denied triggers) - Investigations & fixes
- CR Executions / Co-ordinating with Akamai for same
- Configuration changes / testing / 301 redirect , SSL implementations and bot attack analysis
- DNS changes
- Site Shield changes
- Image optimization requests
