Responsibilities include processing non-emergency service requests, maintaining sensitive or legal records, answering phones, greeting and assisting the public at the front counter, and ensuring efficient and professional customer service. Responds to written inquiries for special or specific law enforcement information while complying with public record laws and confidentiality. </li><li>Operates computerized records management system and enters Uniform Traffic Citations into the Records Management System (RMS); conducts records checks and maintains Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) certification.</li><li>Completes court-ordered and public fingerprinting services in accordance with applicable procedures and legal requirements.</li><li>Assists in the processing of a variety of reports and records including reports of investigation; hazardous, and nuisance vehicles; sex offender registrations; false alarm notices and alarm permits. </li><li>Establishes and maintains records systems and report files using moderately independent judgment which includes creating folders, assigning Police Reports to the correct location, moving media files, and ensuring each document has been assigned a retention period.</li><li>Receives and posts a variety of payments. Runs weekly payment reports and balances payments to the reports and prepares weekly deposits.</li><li>Tracks and organizes vehicle fleet maintenance and repairs.</li><li>Composes a variety of correspondence, reports and other materials requiring independent judgment as to content, accuracy, and completeness. </li><li>Enters and retrieves criminal justice information using local, state, and national computer systems in response to operational needs and polices.</li><li>Represents the City of Albany by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
