Part-time Teacher Assistant Remote

Are you someone that loves games? Do you believe that learning should be made fun? Join us to make learning fun for kids through video games Ottodot is looking for a Remote Teacher Assistant to manage the day-to-day technical between our teachers, parents, and students during our online classes.

Role Overview

This position is a blend of technical support and live facilitation. You will ensure that both students and teachers have a seamless experience in our virtual classrooms and act as the primary host for our game-based tournament workshops.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Assist students and teachers resolve connectivity or access issues before and during live sessions.
  • Student & Parent Support: Act as the primary point of contact for parents, send updates and respond to inquiries.
  • Classroom Support: Step in to resolve logistical/technical issues(e.g., teacher delays or tech glitches) and escalate feedback to the team.
  • Game Hosting: Lead the fun Facilitate and host game tournament workshops, keeping students engaged and excited.

Candidate Requirements

  • Communication: Professional fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competency in using and navigating various tools (eg. Airtable, Google Classroom/Meet, Discord, etc)
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly under live pressure.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Experience in customer support or working with children is highly valued.
  • Gaming Interest: A general interest in video games; specific familiarity with the Roblox platform is an advantage.

  • Shift Availability: Must be available for fixed weekday shifts (Monday–Friday) during one of the following windows:

  • 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

  • 2:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Technical Specifications

  • OS: Windows 10 or macOS 10.14+
  • Processor: Quad-core (Intel i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen 5/7) 2.4 GHz or above.
  • Memory: 8GB RAM minimum.
  • Internet: Stable 20 Mbps consistent upload and download speed.
  • Hardware: 1080P webcam and a headset with a high-quality microphone.
  • Workspace: A quiet, private, and professional workspace.
