Miner 2 - Experienced Remote Loader Operator (East Tennessee Mines)

THE ROLE The purpose of this job is to safely and efficiently advance capital and secondary development waste at the Nyrstar Tennessee Mine operation. The Miner 2 must be able to perform all mining tasks: drilling, blasting, bolting, scaling, mucking, map reading, drift online and grade, and advance utilities. Must have experience in remote loading. Key Accountabilities <ul><li>Marking the face with the appropriate drill pattern</li><li>Drilling holes parallel and on correct angles</li><li>Cleaning, scratching, and marking holes </li><li>Shovel lifters when the heading is complete </li><li>Comply with MSHA & ATF explosives regulations and requirements</li><li>Proper handling and loading of explosives</li><li>Minimizing explosive waste</li><li>Detonation of explosives (licensed blasters)</li><li>Accurately complete blast report as per regulations</li><li>Hand scaling</li><li>Ensures all hoses and other auxiliary services are neatly stored</li><li>Maintains hauling efficiency by managing working environment conditions</li><li>Maintains proper housekeeping and tidiness </li><li>Follows correct loading and dumping procedures</li><li>Inspects and assesses site conditions to determine scaling and bolting requirements</li><li>Erects barricades to prevent unauthorized access if necessary</li><li>Wetting down headings for dust suppression</li><li>Ensures services (air, water) are advanced</li><li>Installs appropriate bolts and screen to specified pattern and spacing</li><li>Step-Up Supervisor </li></ul>Qualifications/Experience <ul><li>Demonstrates the ability to perform Supervisor duties</li><li>Minimum 5 years’ experience of underground hard rock mining </li><li>Rapid development experience desired</li><li>Experience in mine specific equipment </li><li>Excels in Jumbo and ground support activities</li><li>Sound understanding of mining regulation and statutory responsibilities</li><li>Blasting License</li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li></ul>Department: External This is a non-management position This is a full time position
