<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><strong>Account Executive (Short-Term Contract)<br><br></strong><strong>Project Duration:</strong> ~8 weeks, slated to end <strong>April 30th</strong>, with the possibility of extension depending on internal staffing changes.<br><br><strong>Hours:</strong> Approx. <strong>20–30 hours/week<br><br></strong><strong>Hourly Rate:</strong> <strong>$30–$35/hr<br><br></strong><strong>Category:</strong> PR – Fashion & DTC Brands<br><br><strong>Location:</strong> Hybrid (with availability to come onsite 1x/week as needed) Midtown<br><br><strong>Overview<br><br></strong>We are seeking a <strong>freelance Account Executive (AE)</strong> to support a short?term project for a portfolio of <strong>fashion and DTC brands</strong>. This need arises due to the resignation of the Jr. AE previously supporting the team, resulting in limited bandwidth and a tight interim budget.<br><br>The AE will play a key role in daily account management, writing, research, media relations, and overall PR program execution. This position requires strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate with a high level of professionalism and independence.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Client Service & Media Relations<br><br></strong><ul><li>Support development and execution of client programs. </li><li>Maintain full understanding of client business and account workflows. </li><li>Manage spokesperson and media relationships. </li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with key consumer and trade media. </li><li>Participate in meetings and calls; confidently present ideas and updates. </li><li>Identify opportunities and proactively recommend solutions to enhance client outcomes. </li><li>Travel occasionally for meetings, events, or media activities (if needed). <br><br></li></ul><strong>Strategy & Content Development<br><br></strong><ul><li>Provide strategic recommendations on media outreach and positioning. </li><li>Draft compelling media pitches aligned to client goals. </li><li>Monitor industry news and trends across fashion, DTC, and broader PR landscapes. </li><li>Draft first versions of press releases, client memos, and supporting PR materials. </li><li>Successfully pitch and secure media placements. </li><li>Support implementation of PR initiatives including interviews, media tours, events, newsletters, research, and more. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Administration & Reporting<br><br></strong><ul><li>Produce high?quality written materials and client reports (typo-free, polished). </li><li>Attend team meetings prepared to contribute and follow through on deliverables. </li><li>Meet deadlines and keep supervisors informed of project status. </li><li>Support senior staff on special projects as needed. </li><li>Flex into tasks that fall outside the traditional AE scope when required. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Team Collaboration & Development<br><br></strong><ul><li>Communicate with supervisors regularly for coaching, resource needs, and prioritization. </li><li>Depending on team structure, may provide guidance or oversight to junior staff. <br><br></li></ul><strong>New Business Support<br><br></strong><ul><li>Assist with research, presentation development, and logistics for new business opportunities as needed. <br><br></li></ul><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> 2+ years of public relations experience. </li><li>Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, business, communications, or a related field. </li><li>Strong writing and verbal communication skills with flawless grammar and attention to detail. </li><li>Proven initiative, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities. </li><li>Understanding of media landscapes, especially within consumer, fashion, and DTC categories. </li><li>Curiosity and interest in staying informed about client industries. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors and cross?functional team members. </li><li>Goal?oriented with strong organizational skills.</li></ul>
