The Opportunity

We’re currently seeking both experienced Millwrights and Millwright Apprentices to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. This opportunity is ideal for experienced tradespeople and motivated apprentices looking to build their careers in industrial and mining environments.

In this role, you’ll support the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment, contributing to safe, efficient operations. If you take pride in precision work, value safety, and enjoy working as part of a strong team, this could be the right fit for you.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery and equipment and mechanical systems, with specialized experience in the industrial and commercial sectors
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to position machinery and parts during the installation, set up and repair of machinery
  • Read engineering blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures, identify parts and part specifications
  • Physical work including lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, crouching, climbing, crawling and reaching repeatedly throughout the workday
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
  • Occasional travel to job sites across Northern Ontario, including out-of-town assignments with overnight stays as required
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project demands
  • Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

You Are a Good Fit If You Have

Required:

  • Valid G class Driver’s License
  • Level two (2) Industrial Mechanic Millwright or at least two (2) years of relevant experience in an Industrial Mechanic Millwright Position
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Considered an Asset:

  • A valid Industrial Mechanic Millwright trade certificate for the province of Ontario (433A)
  • Welding experience

Skills & Abilities:

  • Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements they impose on contractors)
  • Able to adapt to and learn new systems and machinery
  • Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical principles
  • Ability to handle multiple on the go tasks and appropriately prioritize based on operational needs
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication skills with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
  • Ability to adapt to changing job requirements and schedules
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic

*This position is governed by a collective agreement. The pay range posted reflects base compensation under the applicable agreement. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and union provisions. Benefits and other incentives are offered separately.
