Help setting up quick books

I am a 70 year old Psychotherapist in private practice. My accountant wants me to transition to quickbooks However they, or my banker cannot get the system going. I have spent hours with little progress. I need:

1) transfer of date from bank accounts and credit cards

2) help for me in assigning line items to accounting categories ( travel, office supplies, marketing etc.) so I can produce transaction reports that my accountant can do taxes from.

I have used Quicken successfully in the past. I'm just stuck with Quickbooks.
