Community Moderator
We are looking for a Community Moderator (fluent in Arabic & English) to help maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging environment on a large-scale, user-generated content platform where users create and share posts, comments, images, and videos across multiple interest-based communities.
The role will focus on review of user-generated content, enforce community rules, respond to reports, and support healthy discussions across Arabic and English communities.
Key Responsibilities
Review and moderate user-generated content (posts, comments, images, videos, and messages) in Arabic and English to ensure compliance with platform policies and applicable regulations.
Support community growth by initiating discussion prompts, weekly threads, polls, and topic-based campaigns to encourage participation.
Work with Community/Editorial teams to curate featured content, spotlight creators, and maintain a steady cadence of engaging posts.
Apply moderation guidelines consistently, including removing prohibited content and issuing warnings, temporary bans, or escalations when required.
Handle user reports and appeals, providing clear, professional responses and documenting decisions.
Monitor emerging trends and risks, including spam, scams, harassment, hate speech, misinformation, and coordinated abuse.
Escalate high-risk content (e.g., threats, self-harm, child safety concerns, illegal activity) to senior moderators or Trust & Safety teams per defined procedures.
Maintain accurate records of moderation actions and rationale to support audits and quality reviews.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Trust & Safety, Legal, Product, and Community) to refine policies and improve user experience.
Requirements
Fluent Arabic (reading/writing) and strong English proficiency; ability to understand regional dialects and slang is an advantage.
Experience in content moderation, customer support, trust & safety, compliance, or community operations (preferred).
Strong judgment and ability to interpret policy consistently across different contexts.
Comfortable reviewing sensitive content and maintaining professionalism under time pressure.
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree is an advantage but not required).
