Charity Trustee - volunteer role
Role Overview
Want to make a difference in your local community? Become a Trustee for NOCS New Opportunities for Community and Support.
NOCS is a local UK charity based in Dorset, which provides support, development opportunities and fun for people with high levels of social anxiety and difficulties with social interaction, particularly due to autism spectrum conditions (ASC), such as Asperger’s, or mental health challenges.
We are seeking dedicated and proactive people to join our board of volunteer Trustees. The Trustees play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction and governance of our charity, ensuring that we fulfil our mission and serve our community effectively.
Our mission is to foster a community that supports and promotes social inclusion of people in Dorset who are socially and economically excluded on grounds of their autism spectrum condition (ASC), including Asperger syndrome; or mental ill-health, and who experience high levels of social anxiety and difficulties with social interaction.
Do you have a desire to contribute to the community and assist young people to develop their social skills and ability to engage in society?
Whether you’re an experienced board member or new to trustee roles, we welcome fresh perspectives and diverse experiences. We’re particularly interested in
- Fund raising
- Bid writing for grants
- Social media
What you’ll gain:
- The chance to make a meaningful difference
- Experience in strategic decision-making and charity governance
- Connections with like-minded individuals
You don’t need previous trustee experience — just a willingness to learn, collaborate, and care about the community. Whilst this role can be remote we are looking for people with local connections in the community and able to visit in person, so ideally local to the area of Blandford.
