Brass Welder

  • Key Responsibilities

Weld, braze, or solder brass components using appropriate techniques (TIG, MIG, oxy-fuel, brazing).

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.

Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, and fitting brass parts prior to welding.

Inspect finished welds for accuracy, strength, and appearance.

Perform repairs on damaged or defective brass components.

Operate welding equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.

Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in proper working condition.

Follow safety procedures, including use of PPE and proper ventilation.

Collaborate with fabrication, assembly, and quality control teams.

Meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

  • Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience welding or brazing brass or similar non-ferrous metals.

Knowledge of welding techniques specific to brass materials.

Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.

Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Understanding of metal properties and heat control.

Basic math and measurement skills.

Familiarity with shop safety standards and practices.

  • Preferred Qualifications

Welding certification (AWS or equivalent).

Experience with ornamental, plumbing, industrial, or artistic brass fabrication.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Experience in custom or precision metalwork environments.

  • Working Conditions

Shop or factory environment.

Standing for long periods and lifting moderate weights.

Exposure to heat, fumes, and welding equipment (with proper safety measures).
