Role Overview:

The Associate Director Strategic Capacity Building will lead the design strategy and delivery of SCB initiatives ensuring programmes drive meaningful impact and organisational growth. This senior leadership role blends strategic planning operational excellence team leadership stakeholder engagement and partnership development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Strategy & Design

  • Define and lead the strategic direction for capacity-building initiatives aligned with ecosystem needs and emerging trends.
  • Guide needs assessments to identify capability gaps across partner organizations.
  • Support the design and refinement of curricula learning journeys and toolkits in collaboration with content and pedagogy teams.

2. Program Delivery & Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end program lifecycle including planning delivery quality assurance and scale-up across in-person virtual and blended formats.
  • Manage program budgets grants and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and impact.
  • Establish and strengthen M&E systems to track outcomes learning and program effectiveness.

3. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead mentor and manage program managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Build a high-performing values-driven team culture through coaching delegation and accountability.
  • Support team learning growth pathways and well-being.

4. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with NGOs funders corporates government stakeholders and subject-matter experts.
  • Co-create programs and initiatives with partners aligned to shared strategic goals.
  • Represent the organization at sector forums conferences and stakeholder engagements.

5. Donor Engagement & Communications

  • Provide strategic inputs for proposals donor reports and renewal discussions.
  • Translate program outcomes into compelling narratives insights and impact stories for diverse audiences.

6. Outreach & Visibility

  • Support outreach strategies for open programs in collaboration with communications teams.
  • Guide development of high-quality program collaterals and digital outreach content.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Development Social Sciences Management OD or a related field.
  • 12 years of progressive experience in strategic program management or capacity building with significant leadership experience.
  • Strong strategic analytical and people leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
